I’m not usually into poetry or love stories, but I watched the dramatization of The Song of Lunch last night on my DVR and was absolutely captivated. It is so subtle, so deliciously awkward, yet so sublimely sexy despite the majority of the story unfolding on a restaurant table over lunch. The music, the narration, the dialogue, the cinematography: everything is so perfect. Once again, the power of unrequited love enraptures me. I couldn’t tell you why I love stories like these.
This was the only decent video I could find online, but the entirety is definitely worth checking out. If you’re an Alan Rickman fan and have not seen it, you definitely, definitely should.
