I was going through old photos, and I found this one of myself parasailing in Mexico. I’m not that into quotes, and I’m not the best at typography, but I thought this quote went well with the photo and whipped it up in a jiffy. It’s cheesy and generic. Perfect for Pinterest. Zoom

Watercolors with Carol

This past Sunday, my friend Carol invited me over to her beautiful home to play with some watercolors. She’s an accomplished artist who is a master of the medium, so I asked her about maybe teaching me a few tips. Not only did she oblige, but she also let me play with her adorable dogs, Glory and Blondie, made us a delicious, completely organic lunch, and gave me a jar of honey from her husband’s backyard beehive! It was a gorgeous, inspiring day!

By the way, this is my first photo set since resolving to carry around my DSLR everywhere. I am excited to document ordinary life events with more clarity.

I made myself this padded camera bag insert/organizer for my purse. I’ve decided that I rely too much on my phone, so I will be carrying around my DSLR more often to maximize creativity and constantly sharpen my photography skills. Even though I am trying to dress and accessorize more like an adult so potential clients will take me seriously, I can’t help but indulge my child at heart with this juvenile print. I feel like I am carrying around my own juicy little secret. #sewing #photography #batman #life Zoom

Came straight from belly dance class to photograph the La Mirada Symphony Pops Concert. If you are local, they are having a second benefit show, featuring Broadway star Susan Egan, tonight at 8 PM for as low as $11/ticket! Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

These cookies are really ugly on their own, but they sure are delicious.

I really need to buy some new china/dishware. I think these were a cheap set we got from the grocery store when we first moved in. Being broke, however, that’s probably not happening any time soon, haha. Perhaps I can buy some specifically for photography purposes at thrift or antique shops? I have this small thing against buying clothes for regular wear that are possibly previously worn by unhygenic, old—or just plain dead—people. Just, I don’t know where that’s been, ya’ know? Now I ask myself, “Do I have a problem against putting food on dishware that dead people have eaten from?” Hrrmmm….

I’ve been getting very fascinated with decorating food, and with my discovery of this blog, I am inspired to get better not only at making food taste wonderful, but also photographing them looking like they would taste that way. I made these for my friend Aaron for his birthday, and I’m happy with the way the cupcakes—as well as the photograph of them—came out. Happy eating! =)
